Gold potatoes are looking to finish over the next several weeks. Value Added - Raw product production is doing well for everything but broccoli and lettuce. Acceptable quality for raw product is present at field level production. There will be some delays in processing caused supply issues in the Salinas Valley . The quality problems such as red to brown discoloration and tip burn in lettuce and romaine can be found in some lots. However, this varies from shipper to shipper. Broccoli processors are not experiencing good supplies with some holding customers to their 12 week averages. Romaine Hearts : The cold weather is preventing the plants from cupping up to form hearts. The situation looks to remain the same in for the near future. Ice in the fields will continue to cause supply issues as well as causing long delays at the shipping locations.
