Has your doctor told you, you’re eating too much sugar in your foods? It’s important that you listen to your doctor to prevent health problems and keep yourself fat. We are here to help you reduce your sugar intake by telling what foods and ingredients you should avoid eating
When we eat too much sugar, we can truly jeopardize our health. It’s recommended that people limit their sugar intake to 50 grams per day when possible. When you go beyond 50 grams per day, you put yourself at risk of adding too many calories to your diet that makes your body age and become more vulnerable to disease and obesity.
Although fruit is very high in sugar, it’s not where the danger lies for most people. If you are worried you’re eating too much fruit, consider eating 2 to 4 servings of your favorite fruit a day. It’s better to eat fresh fruit than drink juice containing fruit. Luckily, you don’t have to count fruit to your sugar count.
What should be counted toward your sugar intake?
The answer is sugar that you voluntarily add to your meals, sugar inside processed foods, sugar in beverages, and any prepared foods that added sugar.
Here is a list of natural sugars you can enjoy:
- Maple Syrup
Anything that’s a concentrated sweetener should count as a sugar. You should avoid drinking too many soft drinks, sweetened teas and sport drinks as they use a great deal of artificial sweetening.
The best way to keep track of the amount of sugar you eat daily is to keep a record of foods you eat daily. How much sugar did you put in your morning coffee? Did you add any honey to your oatmeal today? Every bit of sugar counts.
Lay off the sweet desserts and snacks. Protect yourself from type 2 diabetes, don’t buy has many frozen desserts, candy and bake goods. The foods have so much sugar inside.
You can help wean yourself off of sugary foods by drinking plenty of water, eating healthy snacks throughout the day and avoiding fast foods.
- You eat snacks throughout your day to prevent your body from feeling starved.
