Four Simple Yet Delicious Summer Snack Recipes

Have your snacks been on the sad side lately? Think a basic granola bar, or plain nuts because you forgot to pick up anything new from the store. Or maybe your party appetizer game isn’t what it’s cracked up to be? Luckily for you, we have ideas for four simple, easy, and delicious snacks that you and your guests will love. All four rely on a base of Wasa crispbread crackers, a sturdy cracker that makes the perfect edible plate for all kinds of goodies.

Wasabi Pea Cracker

This Asian inspired snack has a little spice to it thanks to the wasabi and ginger, but it maintains a sweet, smooth mouthfeel with the creaminess of avocado and sugar of fresh peas.

  • ½ Avocado

  • ½ cup Peas: some to mash, some whole

  • ½ garlic clove

  • ½ teaspoon minced ginger

  • A small dab of Wasabi Paste

  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice

  • Salt & Pepper to taste

  • Sesame Seeds to top

  • Sesame OIl to drizzle

  • 4 Wasa Sesame & Sea Salt Crackers

Start by mashing avocado with ¾ of your peas then mix in your spices, wasabi, a drizzle of oil, and lemon juice, add salt and pepper as desired. Spread the mix onto the crackers then top with the leftover peas and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Crunchy Caprese

Summer on a cracker! A caprese snack utilizes the beauty of summers fresh herbs and tomatoes for a savory and sweet treat that is sure to be a classic.

  • ½ cup ricotta cheese

  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest

  • 4 Wasa Gluten Free Original Crackers

  • 6 cherry tomatoes, sliced in half

  • fresh basil leaves

  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

Mix together the ricotta, lemon zest and a pinch of salt then spread the mixture onto your crackers. Use your tomatoes and basil to top, and you’re done!  

Taco Crackers

The most festive of the bunch, this taco cracker is a bright, bold flavor-packed snack that you’re going to love.

  • 4 Wasa Gluten Free Sesame & Sea Salt Crackers

  • ½ avocado

  • ½ teaspoon lime juice

  • ¼ cup cooked black beans, drained and rinsed

  • a few leaves of cilantro

  • pickled red onion

  • sea salt

Mash your avocado directly onto your crackers with the back of a fork, then squeeze a drizzle of lime juice and sprinkle of salt over each before topping with black beans, cilantro, and pickled red onion. For a more dynamic flavor try adding a pinch of cayenne or cumin.

Almond Butter & Berries

This healthy snack is packed with nutrients, protein, and will still help satisfy a sweet tooth! It’s a win-win in our book.

  • 4 Wasa Gluten Free Original Crackers

  • slather of almond butter

  • 6 or more strawberries, sliced in half

  • ¼ cup blueberries

  • coconut flakes, for sprinkling

Start by spreading almond butter onto each cracker, as thick or thin as you prefer, but note that you do want it thick enough to hold the other toppings in place. Next, top your crackers with a mound of berries and sprinkle with coconut. If you’re looking to add some extra sweetness, add a drizzle of agave syrup.
